Mildred Wallace

Millie was born in Des Moines on May 29th, 1943. She was called home on Saturday, August 25, 2007. Millie was a longtime employee at Wal-Mart on the Southside. She also spent many years working at the Hotel Fort Des Moines and the Hotel Savory. Millie enjoyed shopping, gambling, traveling and spoiling her grandchildren. A beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt and friend, she will be missed.
She is survived by her sons, Fred Baumann of New Jersey and Gottlieb W. Baumann Jr. of Des Moines. Her grandsons, Damon Baumann (Melissa) of Des Moines; Brandon Baumann (Diana) and Matthew Baumann of New Jersey, 4 great-grandchildren; Megan, Nicole, Donte and Katelynn. Her sisters, Dorothy Wallace, Blanche Frederiksen and Lois Aller (Jim) of Des Moines and her brothers, Donald Dhabolt (Marilyn) and Darold Dhabolt of Clio, IA. Edward Karnes (Janice), James Karnes and Harry Dhabolt all of Des Moines. 27 nieces and nephews, 43 great nieces and nephews and 14 great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Wallace and Ruth Dhabolt, step-father, Fred Dhabolt, her brother, Floyd Andrew and her sister, Bernice Davis.
Her funeral will be held 11 am Wednesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
