Christine McVey

Christine McVey, 62, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Christine was born August 13, 1951 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Robert and Francis (Middleton) Hines. Her family was her world. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was beloved by her family. Christine lit up any room she walked in to; she was a vibrant and energetic person. She loved to talk and was very chatty and social. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she always took care of those she loved. Christine was a great cook, enjoyed working with her hands, and creating crafts.

Christine is survived by her husband of 42 years, Gary; children, Robin (Sam) Black, Teasha McVey, and Kerri McVey; grandchildren, Zane and Zoey Black and Mia and Jackson McVey. She is also survived by her mother, Francis Hines; brothers, Bobby and Skip Hines; and mother-in-law, Dolores McVey. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Misti McVey; father, Robert Hines; brother, Terry Joe Hines; and father-in-law, Carl Dewitt McVey.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Murray Church of Christ, 430 3rd Street, Murray, Iowa.
