Raymond Leroy Foreman, 68, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the VA Hospital in Des Moines. Ray was born September 18, 1945 to Claude and Sylvia (Boggs) Foreman.
Ray graduated from Lincoln High School. Ray proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1972 – 1975. He retired after 26 years of dedicated service from Echo Valley Golf and Country Club.
Ray is survived by his wife, Debbie Cabelka; sister, Kathryn (Jack) Woods; brother, Robert (Sandy) Foreman; father in-law, Loren Cabelka; brother in-law, Brent (Kathy) Cabelka; sister in-law, Shelley Cabelka; beloved nieces and nephews; special caregivers, niece, Shelley Brugioni and friends, Michelle Buck and Julie Harvey.
A graveside service will be held at Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery, Van Meter, Iowa at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2014.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Ray’s family.

Kathryn, We are so sorry. I didn't know Ray or his wife so will you pass my sympathies to her. Shelley is a great nurse he was blessed to have her at his side for his cares. He was blessed to have you as his lovine and devoted sister. Laddie and I have an obligation to care for my daughter Sarah's two small children, but we are trying to figure out how we can come to show our respect. If we are. unable, please know we are thinking of you and of Bob as well.

I am so sorry for your loss of Ray. He was a "one of a kind" guy that will be difficult to forget! Just remember I am merely a phone call away when you want to talk or just need a friendly ear. All my love and a big hug.

Ray was my H.S. classmate. He was a good guy. I wish I had known he was a Marine. I would have thanked him for his service. Our son-in-law is a Marine. They all are indeed America's finest. I am indeed sorry for your loss. May the Lord comfort you. Love in Christ, Sandy
