Gloria Carney

Gloria Jean Price Carney passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014 with her family at her side at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Gloria was born to Donald and Barbara (Entsminger) in Des Moines on May 25, 1953.

Gloria lived in Pheonix, AZ. until 2005 and than returned to Des Moines. She was a claims examiner for over 35 years and had worked for the Pain Center of Arizona. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies. Gloria enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and collecting snowmen.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Robert Price DeCamp; her daughters, Melissa McBride and Mary Walker; her six grandchildren; Dillion McBride, Dalton McBride, Gaige Campero, Dante Campero, Makenzee McBride, Blaise Walker; two sisters, Sue Achey and Debbie Tabor; two brothers, Harold Carney and Jim LaFon; numerous nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines. Burial will follow the service at Avon Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Kidney Foundation or to American Diabetes Association in remembrance of Gloria.
