Service Details
William Joe Mickle, Sr., 77, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014 at Kavanagh House. Services will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines with visitation on Thursday, May 29 from 6 to 8 p.m.; and the funeral service on Friday, May 30 at 2:00 p.m. After cremation, a private burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
William was born on December 22, 1936 in Des Moines, IA to Mildred (Ridgeway) and Earl Mickle. On December 31, 1953 he married Beverly Jean Solomon and the couple had six children. William enjoyed fishing, bowling and collecting model cars.
He is survived by his children, Ernest (Deb) Mickle, Randy Mickle, Vicky (Clay) Pryor, and William (Lynn) Mickle, Jr.; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Betty Donahue and Mary James. William was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Orval Johnson; brothers, John, LeRoy and Richard, Sr.; his wife, Beverly; daughter, Barbara Jean; and son, Ricky Joe.

Vickywe wanted to let you know we recognized your Dad's name and saw your name too. You spent time on our family when you were about 10 and we are thinking of your family now. Life goes on but it's tough at times. All the best w/courage.

To my Grandpa, I love you so very much and will miss you more than ever. I know I had 37 yrs with you but it wasn't enough but I will never forget you for the rest of my life and I will be forever grateful for having such a great man as my you, my grandfather in my life. May you rest in peace and I will see you again one day. I love you.
