Cynthia (Simpson) (Alexander) Barnes

Cindy Barnes, 57, was born February 17, 1957 in Des Moines, the daughter of Ralph and Victoria (Kinder) Simpson. She passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Mike; children, Wesley (Maricela), Melissa and Chris Alexander; grandchildren, Tony Torres and Aidan Alexander; her nine siblings, Mike Simpson, Sandy Simpson, Ronnie Simpson, Karen Benson, Vicki Alexander, Connie Simpson, Billy Simpson, Terry Simpson and Charles Simpson; numerous nieces and nephews; other loving relatives and many special friends. She will also be sadly missed by her beloved four legged friends – her dogs, Optimo and Max; and her cat, Maple.

Cindy was such a loving wife, mom and grandma. She was very strong-willed and independent, and will be remembered for that snide little smile she would flash, letting you know she was up to something.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th St. SW.
