Nancy Mendenhall

Nancy Mendenhall, 66, lost her battle with cancer Monday, May 19, 2014 at Fleur Hts. Care Center. She was born December 26, 1947 to Lila and Hoyt Mendenhall in Des Moines, Iowa.

Nancy loved her friends, family and pet bird. Her big smile and friendliness will be greatly missed. She was employed over the years at Bishops, Old Country Buffet and the Federal Building through Goodwill Solutions.

She is survived by her brothers, Bob (Sylvia) of Des Moines and Lyle (Nancy) Mendenhall of Florida; sister, Patricia (Bud) Beaty of West Des Moines; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Edith Kutchen and Helen Milligan; and her brother, Harlan Mendenhall.

Family will greet friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street the service will follow at 2 p.m. The family will have a private burial in Boone, Iowa.

We wish to thank Drs. Steven Elg and Steve Heddinger and staff, Fleur Hts. Care Center and Hospice, especially nurse Ann as they gave so much to caring and love to Nancy during her struggle to survive.
