Mary “Sue” (Newton) Shull was born May 31, 1945 in Grinnell, Iowa, the daughter, of Raymond and Leona Newton. Sue was a loving mom, grandma, and sister. She was loved by so many and was blessed to surround herself with many friends. She was a member of Girls Night Out Group, Star Group, Singles & Agriculture, and Firestone Coffee Group. Sue passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa at the age of 68.
Sue is survived by her children: daughter, Sherry Shull and son, Steven (Anna) Shull; her granddaughters, Kaidyn and Violet; and her brother, Bob (Mavis) Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Richard, Gary, and Roger Newton.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Graveside service will take place at Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery in Brooklyn, Iowa at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 23.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Sue.

Sue was one of my first friends when I started at Firestone. She trained me to do many tasks for which I am grateful. Sweet, sweet Sue I will miss you...RIP. Her and her family will be in my thoughts and prayers. We had some fun times at work and after work...I loved when we went to Prairie Meadows.
