Paul Pittman

Paul Pittman, 79, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center.

Paul was born January 6, 1935, in Des Moines. He was a United States Navy Veteran. Paul sold real estate for over 40 years, most recently for Iowa Realty. He was a member of the Jaycees, Grand View Golf Course, and the Southside Chamber of Commerce. Paul had a very positive and upbeat personality. He loved spending time with his family and was a fan of all sports. His favorite teams were the St. Louis Cardinals and the Oakland Raiders.

Paul is survived by his wife, Marcia; children, Steve Pittman, Todd Pittman, Shawn Leighton, and Shelley Pittman; grandchildren, Tanner and Taylor; and a host of extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Ferne Pittman, and his brother, Tom.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home. Paul will be laid to rest at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family or Animal Rescue League.
