Steven Lynn Millard, 65, was born December 21, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Harold and Frankie Millard. He passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Steve took great pride in gardening, and above all else loved spending time with Jo Ann.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jo Ann; children, Rene Ira, Steve (Jenny) Millard, and Michelle (Rick) Burgett; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Rick (Sharon) Millard, and Kathy (Jerry) Remster. Steve was preceded in death by his son, Shawn; his parents; and brothers, Larry, Jack, Tom, Bill, and Jim.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 19, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. Graveside Service will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 20th at Avon Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Steve.

So sorry for your loss, My prayers go out to all the family at this time , I have enjoys knowing Steve and his family , I hope you can find the strength to get through all of this and find peace for yourself, it will take time to heal the loss of your loved one.

My prayers for you JoAnn, you and Steve were the best neighbors ever, you guys would do anything for anyone and I enjoyed living next to you when we did. Steve was a great guy and he loved you very much. I hope you find the strength to get through the pain of losing your best friend, my heart breaks for you. One day at a time JoAnn.

We are going to miss him so much!!! I'm so glad I grew up with him being my uncle.May he rest in peace and be the leader of angels for Kim,his brothers,and Stacy,and Shawn.I miss all so much! And for you my cousins Renee and Peep he shall suffer no more. I love you guys. Time will heal your broken hearts.
