Thomas Millsap, 70, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center.

Thomas was born November 11, 1943 in Newton, Iowa to Keith and Dorothy (Sudbrook) Millsap. He married Kay Cooper on June 5, 1964, Thomas passed away just prior to celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
The couple lived in Indianola until 1974 when they moved to Des Moines.
Thomas worked for Paxton Lumber in Des Moines for many years. He and Kay also owned and operated Sawdust, Chips & Splinters a wooden toy business. Thomas enjoyed woodworking, repairing antique toys and collecting antiques.

Thomas was a friend to many. His garage was the neighborhood “hangout”. He will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Kay; beloved granddaughter, Chelsey Alcantar; sister, Judy (Morris) Auten; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Traci; and brother, Don.

The family will greet friends Monday, May 19, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
