Lorraine Williams

Lorraine Diane (Pittman) Williams was born July 20, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Howard and Alline (Sims) Pittman. She worked as a family counselor for Maryville Academy.

Lorraine passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

She is survived by her daughters: Kimberly Williams, Yvette Williams, Tamar Williams, Kezia Williams, Abigail (Troy) Andrews, and Bryana Lorvince; sisters: Anna (Eric) Tracey, Karen Pittman, Marlene Pittman-Fuller, Pamela Pittman, and Marcia McCants; brother, Howard (Sherrien) Pittman; aunt, Linda (Leroy) Banks, whom she was raised with as a sister; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Otis Williams and Janie Taylor; and a host of grandkids, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Pittman; mother, Alline Gordon; former husband, Caleeb Asadi; and aunt, Annie Mae.


Services will be held Friday, May 23, 2014 at Corinthian Baptist Church, 814 School Street, Des Moines. Family will begin greeting friends at 12:00 p.m. with funeral services to start at 1:00 p.m.
