Margaret Gebard

Margaret (Maggie) Gebard, 63, peacefully passed away from this life on Wednesday, August 23, 2007. A funeral mass will be held Monday, August 27, 2007 at 11:00 at All Saints Church, 650 NE 52nd Avenue, in north Des Moines.
Maggie was born on November 17, 1943 and lived her entire life as a resident of Des Moines. She graduated from East High School in 1962. Maggie loved spending time with her family and friends playing games, socializing and helping them with encouragement and great food (especially, spaghetti and meatballs). She worked as an optician and manager for 30 years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. Maggie will be deeply missed by all.
She is survived by her husband, Terrance Gebard, children Terry Gebard (Kersten), and Mary Schmidt (Steve); grandchildren, Kaeleigh, Erika, and Anelise Gebard and Joseph, Rebecca, and Jeffrey Schmidt. She is also survived by her two sisters, Rachel Myers and Betty Frideres (Gene) and a brother, John Spagnolo. Maggie is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Tom Spagnolo and Joe Spagnolo.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Church of which Maggie was a parishioner.
