Shirley A. Zenti, 78, passed away at her home Monday, May 12, 2014.
Shirley was born July 30, 1935 to Harold and Ethel Calder in Willow Township. She was raised in Scranton, Iowa and graduated from Scranton High School in 1952. On January 29, 1955, she married Mario Zenti. Shirley was a homemaker and took great pride in raising her and Mario’s five children. She enjoyed gardening and was a great cook.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 59 years, Mario; children, Mario Zenti, Jr., Carlo Zenti, Alberto Zenti and Elizabeth (Bart) Butler; eight grandchildren; in-laws, Tino (Carmen) Zenti, Angela Zenti, Louie (CeCe) Zenti and Benny (Vonnie) Zenti; siblings, Kay O’Donnell and Jim (Joyce) Calder; and a host of extended family and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Stephan in 2004.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 5:30 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Avenue.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Mrs. Zenti and your lovely family have been so special to our Miller family for so long. I feel as if I've lost one of our own.

I am so sorry for the loss that you and yours are experiencing at this time. My thoughts are with you. Thank you for sharing Shirley with me and allowing me the opportunity to get to know her and care for her prior to her passing. She appeared to be a strong presense and had a huge heart especially for her family. I was extreemly touched by the relationship of her and Mario and the love they had for one another right up until the end. Strength, love and peace to you all. May peace fill your hearts.
