Robert "Robbie" Lee Shepherd III

Robert L. Shepherd III was born August 25, 1969, in Des Moines, IA, to Robert “Bobby” Shepherd and Gloria Hoffman Shepherd. He passed away from natural causes on May 11, 2014, at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Robbie graduated from East High School in 1987. He worked in the construction trade for more than 20 years, and was most recently working at Allied Construction. Robbie loved motocross, outdoor activities, and was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Robbie is survived by his wife, Dawn; his children, Robyn of Des Moines and Tiffani of North Dakota; stepchildren, Alexa and Allison Schrauth of Ankeny; father, Bobby of Runnells; brother, Casey; nephew and niece, Kaiden and Gabby; mother and father-in-law, Nancy and Al Jameson; sister and brother-in-law, Jill and Dan Buscherfeld and their children, Grant, Drake, and Mitch; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria; infant brother, Corey; maternal grandparents, Melvin and Ruth Hoffman; and paternal grandfather, Robert “Shep” Shepherd.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2014, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
