Carl E. Taylor, Jr., 73, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines, IA. Carl was born August 23, 1941 in Des Moines, IA to Carl E. Taylor, Sr. and Nadine T. Abbott. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dena May Taylor; brothers, Donald Hall, Butch Cannon, and Arnold Jackson.
Carl is survived by his sons, Orlando Taylor of Gilbert, AZ and Kevvin Taylor of Phoenix, AZ; siblings, Jacque Taylor of Morristown, NJ, Donna Abbott-Winfrey of Moore, OK, and Marcus Hurt of Omaha, NE; grandchild, Randee Taylor of West Des Moines, IA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 3200 Lincoln Avenue, Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2014 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

I want to extend my sincere Condolences to you and your direct family. Carl and I go back to the old school days during (1960's +) when Cedar Rapids was one of his landing zones. Carl is now in a better place & to never be forgotten as one who traveled on this earth a short time to eventually be with the Lord!
