Barbara Jean Huff was born January 24, 1932 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Adolph and Marvyle (Hanson) Holm. She passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the age of 82.
She is survived by her children, Tom (Linda) Phipps, Nancy (Frank) Maher, Steve (Judie) Phipps, and Linda Hebert; siblings, Dorothy Hildreth, Doug (Thelma) Ince, Betty Kline, and Anna Lou Vivial; twelve grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Pat Hebert; and brothers-in-law, Don Hildreth, Kenny Kline, and Jim Vivial.
Family will begin greeting friends at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, with funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Barbara.

Steve, Judy, Anna and families -- so sorry for your loss. It was a pleasure meeting "Grandma Barb" when our children were married. What a BEAUTIFUL Lady. May you find strength in knowing your mother and grandmother touched many lives with her quick wit and lovely smile!

I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Barbara. She was so so beautiful and fun to be around. My thoughts and prayers are with Steve, Linda, Nancy ,Tom and their familys. My thoughts will be with the all the Phipps' and Klines as well. Bless you all. !

Thank you being a great "step grandmother." We certainly had some fine times together, especially shopping with Linda. I have always appreciated how much you loved your kids and grandkids. Rest in peace Barb, it is peace you deserve.

I was so sorry to hear of Aunt Barbara's passing. I'm praying that God will comfort Nancy, Tom, Linda,and Steve and all of the rest of the family. You all have been thru a lot in a short time with losing both parents. So sorry. When I think of Aunt Barbara I always picture her smiling and laughing. One time your mom and my mom decided that they were going get a "secret " recipe. for taffy from a cousin and they were hilarious sneaking around the kitchen trying to write down ingredients to compile a complete recipe. They reminded me of Lucy and Ethel off of "I love Lucy". We had so many enjoyable times at Grandma's house when you guys came to Creston to visit and when we came to your house. I remember that beautiful dog you had, Samson. I am sorry that I've lost contact with you all thru the years. Life gets too busy. I wish you all the best and think of your family often.
