Evarillia Milliken

Evarillia “Eva” Milliken, 81, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014. She was born June 27, 1932 to Isaac and Julia Outhouse in Onawa, Iowa.

Eva managed King’s Food Host for 25 years and was known by all as “Mom”. She worked at Mercy Hospital for 5 years, and volunteered for over 10 years in the Medical Library. Eva was also a member of the Mercy volunteer Odd’s & End’s Group. She enjoyed reading mystery books and was an avid Nebraska fan, but above all else her family was her life.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary (Jay) Cotter, Cindy (Harry) Rupe, and Barbara Barnes; sons, Edward (Lucy) Milliken, Rick Milliken, and Michael (Kathy) Milliken; 18 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. Evarillia was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Milliken.

Friday, May 9, 2014, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. friends may visit with family at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the funeral home with a private family burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
