Gregory Bento

Gregory Bento, 56, passed away Monday, May 5, 2014. He was born July 12, 1957 to Joseph and Dorothy Bento in Des Moines, Iowa.

Greg was born a landscapers son and worked at Bento Landscaping located on the South Side of Des Moines for the early years of his life. He took pride in his work and was a dedicated employee. Most recently he worked for CBRE and had many great friends and co-workers. Greg loved music and was an avid collector. Greg had a very caring and giving attitude towards those he cared for and loved. He had a unique personality with a great sense of humor that made us laugh. He was a very proud Italian.

He is survived by his son, Cory Bento of Des Moines, Iowa; sister, Victoria (Michael) Anania of Lincoln, Nebraska; brother, Lawrence Matherly of Haines City, Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Dorothy Bento; and sister, Patricia Ellis.

Memorial Service in Gregory’s honor will be held at a later date.
