Lillian Smith, 95, was born September 29, 1918, to Arthur and Ada Harrington in Boone, Iowa. She passed away April 28, 2014, at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny, Iowa.
Lillian was a member of Johnston Evangelical Free Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a dealer for Stanley Home Products for more than 40 years in addition to playing piano for the Old Timer’s Band.
Lillian is survived by her daughters, Donna Eaton and Rosalie McKinley; six grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elroy; grandson, Steve McKinley; as well as 12 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 5, 2014, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with burial at Lincoln Cemetery in Polk City. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Lillian and I worked along side of each other for many a year. we went to many conventions, trips etc. together. need i say they were all good fun trips!!

when i came into Stanley in 1985 - Lillian stood out in the crowd as being a verty successful dealer - she led the way for me and so many others - she had also blessed u w/ her piano music at a Stanley function - she actively quit selling many years ago but she is remembered by so many. God Bless u all!

Lilly played in my mother-in-laws band and we always enjoyed her humor and her playing. We are so sorry for your loss.

Lillian was friends with my mother years ago in Polk City. I remember her selling Stanley to my mom for many years. I even remember when she lived out across the mile long bridge before they started developing all that area. I am glad she lived a long life and had many memories to cherish, I am sure. I hope she is at peace now and is in the best place ever. To her family, I am sorry for your loss.

I remember Lillian doing Stanley parties at my Grandma's house. Those were some fun parties! I am so sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in sharing your memories with family and friends.
