Robert Hill, Jr.

Bob Hill, 70, was born October 5, 1943, to Robert and Melba (Ashbaugh) Hill in Phoenix, Arizona. He passed away April 25, 2014, at his vacation home in Texas.

Bob served in the Army Reserves. He was a professional engineer with the Iowa Department of Transportation, receiving his Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University. He was a member of Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley where he served on the council. Bob was active in many civil engineering organizations and was a board member of the Winter Green Retirement Association in Texas.

Bob enjoyed golfing, gardening, working in his yard, dancing, traveling, and spoiling his four grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Carol Hill; son, Ryan Hill; daughter, Tamra Hill; grandchildren, Jasmine Hill, Megan Hill, Ethan Owen, and Elijah Owen; sister, Joyce (Bob) Sevenbergen; brother, Dale (Beth) Hill; brother-in-law, Gene (Kathi) Dontje; as well as many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2014, at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church, 209 N. 2nd Avenue in Huxley, with visitation following the service. A private burial will be held at Fjeldberg Cemetery at a later date.
