Scott B. Charter, 57, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Scott was born May 10, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa to Joe and Patricia (Grimm) Charter. He loved his family and his grandson was his pride and joy. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League, H.O.G., Iowa Bass Stalkers, and Simpson United Methodist Church.
Scott is survived by his wife, Denise; daughter, Megan (Nick) Leo; mother, Patricia Charter; grandson, Tyler; brothers, Mark (Allice) Reynolds and Neal (Terri) Charter; and sister, Debbie Reynolds. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe and his brother, Gary.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 1, also at the funeral home, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.

Charter Family: Brent and I are both shocked and saddened to read of Scott's passing. Brent worked for Scott at Triple F/Pharmtech until Brent left. Scott and Brent became friends AND hunting buddies. Scott may have been the culprit that got Brent hooked on goose hunting! We have pictures of some of their outings. Scott always teased our kids and took a special liking to our son Brody. Brody remembers a stuffed animal Scott once gave him. Since Brent left, unfortunately, the contact became less, as sadly, life gets busy, etc... However, Brent did run into him a few times in the past few years and Scott beamed when talking about his family, especially his grandson. Please know that your family has been in our thoughts and prayers this week and Scott will truly be missed by many.

I worked with Scott for 29 years he was an average guy. He liked to hunt and fish. I haven't seen him for a while but my Wife has and he will be missed a whole bunch. HE was a cool dude.

Denise & Family: We are so sorry for your loss and I know that our family will surely miss seeing Scott out and about in the neighborhood. The boys will miss hearing about Scott's fishing trips and tournaments as well as miss being able to tell him about the ones that got away.
