Rolley G. Glasgow Jr., 82, died Monday, August 20, 2007 at Taylor House in Des Moines, Iowa. Rolley was born February 20, 1925 to Rolley Sr. and Margaret Glasgow, in Keokuk, Iowa .
On February 21, 1948 he was united in marriage to Melva Ewers. To this union, six children were born. He received his B.S. degree in Economics from Iowa Wesleyan and his B.S. degree in Engineering from University of Iowa. He worked as a civil engineer from 1954 until his retirement in 1987. After that, Rolley’s second career was farming.
Rolley served in the United States Air Force as a bombardier in World War II and as a pilot in the Korean War, until he was honorably discharged in 1953.
He is survived by his wife, Melva; his five children, Rolley (Kathy) Glasgow III, Joan (Kenneth) Kasparek; Patricia (Norman) Folkerts; Brian (Susan) Glasgow; and Mary (Brent) Nyffeler; his six grandchildren, Nicholas, Mackenzie, Joel (Jen), Brett, Annie, and Joseph; and one great grandchild, Ayden. He is preceded in death by his son, John Michael Glasgow.
Rolley’s wishes were to be cremated and memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens. Friends will greet family one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Taylor Hospice House, 3401 East Douglas, and Princeton United Methodist Church in Princeton, Missouri.
