William Merical

William B. Merical, 80, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014 at the VA Hospital in Des Moines.

William was born June 24, 1933 in Adel, Iowa to James and Ruby (Wolfe) Merical. He served in the United States Army. Following his service in the military, he lived in California for 15 years and Las Vegas for five before returning to Iowa. William enjoyed drawing, being outdoors, visiting parks and going for long walks.

William is survived by his sisters, Janet (Richard) Williams and Joan (Richard) Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, James and David.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street followed by burial at Oakdale Cemetery in Adel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
