LaKeisha Evette Scroggins, 39, was born July 28, 1974 in Fort Worth, Texas. She passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center.
LaKeisha is survived by her mother, Vera Scroggins; father, Clarence Scroggins; brother, Lawrence (Laura) Scroggins; aunts and uncles, Mary (Jaque) Majors, John McDowell, Jeanette Shepherd, Linda (Derrick) Oglesby, Johnny (Shantel) Joshua, Jarvis (Connie) Joshua, Dennis Joshua, Ronnie Joshua and Bobbie Rogers; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edward Joshua, Bertha Joshua and John Frank McDowell as well as two uncles, Kennis Joshua and Kevin Joshua.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014 at Union Baptist Church, 1200 McCormick St. with burial to follow at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.

I met Keisha many years ago while working at Citibank. She was our trainer. She was one of the sweetest and kindest women there. I knew her outside of work as well. She was always willing to lend an ear and if anyone was in need she surely would be there. I want to extend my condolences to the family. It was a pleasure knowing Keisha and she will be greatly missed. Just take assurance in knowing that one day we will all see her again in heaven. God speed Keisha. Wish I could have said goodbye for now.
