Ted English, 61, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014. He was born August 8, 1952 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Ted graduated from Southeast Polk High School and has been a lifelong resident of Rising Sun. He served an apprenticeship and 42 years as a dedicated member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 33. Ted enjoyed fishing, hunting, and had always wanted to be a farmer. He was a dedicated son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Ted loved Corvettes but above all else he loved his grandchildren dearly.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 38 years, Christine; children, Ryan (Amy) English and children Lainey and Nolan; and Rusty (Lindsay) English and son Jackson; and sister, Jill English.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Stella English; and father-in-law, Russell Hull.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Rising Sun Church of Christ, 6390 NE Rising Sun Drive in Pleasant Hill. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 11, 2014 at the church with burial to follow at Rising Sun Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the family or to Plumbers and Steamfitters Training Center in loving memory of Ted.

I have the utmost respect for Ted English. Over the many years that I worked with him on project's here at Simpson College he never led us astray. He was a very valuable adviser to us.
Ted was a great man with a great laugh. He was the Best At What He Did and will be greatly missed.

Although Val and I didn't know Ted I wanted to tell the three of you what a wonderful mentor he has been to Lee the past years. I know our boys thought the world of him and our thoughts are with you at this very difficult time .

Our condolences go out to the family , I remember Ted as a great mentor as I went through my local 33 apprenticeship, always asking how you are and willing to help you in any way possible, he was a great guy and will be dearly missed. Beth and I are very sorry for the family's loss.
