Beatrice Shepherd

Beatrice Shepherd, 87, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014. She was born July 3, 1926, to George and Vina Strong in Des Moines, Iowa.

She is survived by her children, Ruth, Sheryl, George, Merrill, Tracy, and January; 32 grandchildren; many, many great- and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Opal, Arlene, Harriette, Fred, Belva, Mary Ann, and Madeline; and many relatives and friends.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, William, Sr.; son, William, Jr.; siblings, Virgil and Rose; and her parents.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Beatrice.
