6:00am Bugle Boy wake up calls in the Armories and school gyms are bitter sweet memories. LOL!! Tinikling at the Iowa State Fair, Mpls State Fair and State Basketball Tournaments are not hard to forget either. Mr. Harned made such a great impression on so many lives. He was a mentor, a teacher and a great friend. He will be missed by many! Thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

My heart goes out to you for your lose, yet I rejoice in the Savior Jesus that Coach Harned put his eternal trust in! I'll always remember how coach enjoyed seeing us learn and grow as wrestlers and as young men. He was a great role model and friend to everyone he knew. So now in this time of sorrow, may our Lord keep your hearts and minds together with Him as we live in life and walk also together with Him in faith! God Bless!

Mr. Harned is a huge part of my fond childhood memories. I was fortunate enough to be a Tinikler. He was my favorite teacher and the gym was the first place I'd go when I got to school early. He was a very kind and generous man. He taught us lessons on honesty, respect, giving, kindness and hard work that have impacted many, many people. He was tough when he needed to be but it was only because he cared about his students. He is unforgettable and I'm very fortunate to have known him. My prayers go out to his family. In your grieving, may the impact he had on so many people make you smile.

Mr. Harned always asked me how it was going when he was at East. He always was smiling and obviously enjoyed being around the students. He is missed already.

I was one of the many children of Willard Elementary School to of had Mr. Harned. He was an amazing teacher & I don't think there was a kid who didn't look up to him. I was blessed to have been a Willard Tinikler, & one of the first to perform at the Iowa State Fair, as well as performed at the Basketball tournaments. Mr Harned put in many long hours with all of his children, & if you had him, you were blessed to of had an amazing teacher. Thank you Mr. Harned for the memories you have given to me. My prayers are with your family!

Mr. Harend,
Thank you for everything you were. You had an indelible impression upon my life as a young child that has lasted into my adulthood years. You were a loving and guiding light in my life. I have never forgotten the counts over the years you taught so many of us tinikling, or any of the life lessons of respect and caring for each other. Thank you for your care and passion that you had for all of your students. You were bigger than I ever knew when I was 10 years old, and you are bigger than I could ever imagine at the age of 47. Know that even though you were not related to me by family, you were loved as much. Rest and peace be with you and your family.

I will never forget my elementary school PE teacher. He made everything in class fun, and always let us girls get away with anything! He taught us unique things like tinikeling, the May Pole Dance, and even square dancing. What a great man that will be missed but always remembered! ?

I remember many trips all over the country with Mr. Harned and the tinikling gang. His passion and talent for teaching, mentoring, and guiding all of us kids was nothing short of amazing. Devoting that much time to bunches of roudy kids. What an unselfish man. I thank God for crossing my life with his. Thank you Mr. Harned. Rest in peace, and may God bless your family.

Mr Harned was and always will be a wonderful man, teacher, friend, husband, father, and grandfather. He gave his all to everyone with love and respect.
The many PE conventions he took with the Tiniklers across the states, maybe some of those kids would never have been able to travel and see the many sights. Those are my fondest memories of him. God bless him and his family, my prayers and thoughts are with you.
