Elvida Madison, 93, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014. She was a devout and faithful person who prayed the rosary every day. Elvida was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. She was an avid gardener, loved to take walks, and enjoyed music and dancing. She worked for the United States Postal Service for 31 years.
Elvida is survived by her children, Pat Wadle, Russ (Vicki) Madison, and Lucretia (Scott) Jeffrey; grandchildren: Kate (Ben) Ledyard, Justin (Stephanie) Wadle, Holly (Joe) Lauters, Stacey (Zack) McLaughlin, Russ (Yessica) Madison, Jr., Adam Goble, Ben (Angie) Goble, Nick (Allison) Goble, and Rebecca (Joe) Goodrich; great-grandchildren: Benny, Caleb, Ethan, Max, Ezekial, Maddie, Anna, Emily, Abbie, Joe Jr., Amelia, Isabel, Julia, Jocelyn, and Luke, with one more on the way; and many other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucretia Leto; husband, Richard; son, John Madison; son-in-law, David Wadle; three brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2014 with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Road followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Anthony Catholic Church for masses said in Elvida’s name, Prolife Across America, or Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

So sorry to hear of Alvera's passing. I can picture her dancing in Heaven, just as she did at work at the Post Office! She was a fiesty, spirited woman, and usually came out on top in any argument or the likes. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
