Eric Woolsey Sr., 61, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014.
Eric was born June 3, 1952 in Des Moines, Iowa to Janet Woolsey.
He enjoyed computers and video games. Eric worked at the Plantation Lounge and then went to work at Koch Brothers for 36 years. He was known as being quite the joker to his friends and family. Eric was an avid Star Trek fan, Elks Lodge Member, loved fishing, but most of all loved spending time with his family.
Eric is survived by his wife Martha; children, Eric Woolsey Jr. (Stephanie Ritter), Joseph Woolsey (Katie Leveke), William Woolsey, Elizabeth (Tim) Powers; grandchildren, Amber, Kaleb, Kathrine, and Ellen; Brothers John Woolsey II, and Carl Woolsey; and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his adopted mother, Barb Estey; grandparents, Fred and Ellen Erickson; and great aunt, Elizabeth Erickson.
Services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with a reception to follow.

Sorry for your loss , Martha. My brother in Iowa called to tell me that Eric had passed. He was my best friend and best man at my wedding 43 years ago. We never kept in touch but had thought of him often.Was there when they cancelled Star Trek and when his father passed in the operation. My birthday is the 31st of March and live in Florida but I'll always remember him knocking me in the bushes at his house playing touch football . I always looked up to him. With love Herb and Tammy

So very sorry for you and your family's loss Martha. It's a tuff time right now but just know he is in a better place with out any pain and his lungs are full of fresh pine fair like he is on a Canadian Lake. Love Jack Matthews
