James R. Sapp

James R. Sapp, 88, passed away at his home Thursday, March 27, 2014.

James was born November 16, 1925 in Unionville, Iowa. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during WWII. James worked on the railroad, later worked for Maytag and retired from the Des Moines Water Works.

James is survived by his wife Erma; sons, Jim, Danny and David; daughters, Linda Kay Darlene Sapp and Linda Mae Sohn; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Arizona Sapp; sister, Waneta I. Shanz; and his son, George N. Sapp.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2014 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street followed by burial at Eaton Cemetery in Unionville, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
