Laura Ritter

Laura I. Ritter was born June 20, 1921 in Carlisle to Floyd and Sarah (Ruggles) Deaton. She passed away March 26, 2014 at Union Park Care Center.

Laura will be remembered as being sharp, very determined with a great personality. She loved playing the lottery, gardening and her loyal dog, Buddy. Laura was a hard worker and took great pride in being very self sufficient. She made yummy Christmas candy and always made a lot of it. Laura loved life and her family to the fullest. She will be missed.

Laura is survived by her children, Phyllis (George) Fletcher, Dale (Bonnie) McAninch, and Clyde “Darrell” McAninch and Dick (Debbie) McGrean; sister, Barbara Reed; and numerous grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren; along with a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her three husbands, Clyde McAninch, Richard McGrean and Glen Ritter; her parents; and ten siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street followed by burial at Avon Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Animal Rescue League in remembrance of Laura.
