My deepest sympathy goes out to Cedric's family. My family were fellow Civil War Reenactor's with Cedric and he will be sincerely missed. I will always remember his stories and how every time you spoke with him the conversation just seemed to pick up where it left off months ago. He is truly missed.

My condolences to the family and friends of Cedric. Cedric and I were friends in 1965 when he had a photography studio in Hampton and I was a student at SCI. We first met at Dryerdale Restaurant and formed a friendship based on our mutual interest in the War Between the States history and artifacts. Ced live in the old parsonage that was just west of the Baptist Church on Hwy 3. The parsonage was both his home and the location of his photography studio. We spent countless hours discussing Civil War battles and tactics and shooting cap and ball pistols in the cellar of the old parsonage. I remember Ced and I going to Fort Dodge and participating in archeology digs excavating Indian artifacts. One of my fondest memories of Ced was going to his parents home in Mason City and viewing a very fine collection of Civil War firearms and medical relate artifacts. I remember Ced asking if I had ever fired a Sharps rifle. When I responded that I hadnt, Ced proceeded to load one, opened a window and told me to shoot at a stump in the back yard. Now nearly 50 years later, I think how we could have spent a night as the guests of Mason Citys finest. To Ceds family and friends, I know you will miss him dearly. To Ced, I say, thanks for the memories.

We moved in next door to Ced in 2003. He was the best neighbor a young couple could have ever asked for. He taught us the ins and outs of the neighborhood and what a neighborhood is supposed to be like. We are heartbroken to learn of Ced's passing he will always have a special place in our families story. We will send prayers and love to his family and please know you can call on us for anything.

I am sorry to hear of Cedric's passing. I was in school with Cheryl and Greg. I met Cedric one summer when my parents and I stopped for an overnight visit at the cabin. Cedric told me a lot about the Old West and even let me shoot his revolver. I still remember his mom was picking blueberries as we arrived at the cabin and fixed us blueberry pancakes the next morning. I've never forgotten that visit or the Ruby family. I pray for the entire family and wish you all peace. I know Cedric will be greatly missed by many.
