Virginia "Ginger" Wilson

Ginger Wilson, 81, was born July 20, 1932 in Des Moines, Iowa, to Guy and Violet Reynolds. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 17, 2014.

Ginger graduated from East High School in 1950. She was an avid golfer, belonging to Hyperion Field Club, where she made many lifelong friends. When Ginger wasn’t golfing, she enjoyed being with friends and family playing cards, going out to eat, and just having fun by being together.

Ginger is survived by her daughters, Wendy (Peter Eckert) Wilson of Austin, TX; and Dana (Scott Babcock) Wilson of Denver, CO; granddaughter, Claire Wilson Babcock of Denver, CO; sisters, Ann Marie (Clair) Baldner of Dallas Center, IA; and Sandra Ellgaard of Metairie, LA; brother, Steve (Jackie Helms) Reynolds of Wannaska, MN; her nieces and nephews, Janell (Bruce) Clary, Julie Baldner, Stewart (Lori) Baldner, Greg (Jodi) Baldner, Egon Ellgaard, Annemarie (Dave) Bryant, Sara (Paul) Blomkalns, and Bonny (Craig Erickson) Reynolds. Ginger adored the many generations of her nieces and nephews and had a wide group of friends she loved like family. In addition to her parents, Ginger was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Wilson.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
