Maurice R. “Bud” McNeley, 89, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Taylor House Hospice.
Bud was born December 8, 1924 in Des Moines, Iowa to Jack and Leona (Davison) McNeley. He proudly served his country in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. He was employed at Firestone for over thirty years and retired in 1985.
Bud is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Garneta; daughters, Judy (Dennis) Eldridge, Nona McNeley, and Joy (Tom) Ritchie; step-children, Steve Cox, Randy Cox, and Kathleen (Bob) Milroy; sisters, Sue Rugg, Betty Cracraft, Joyce Huff and Sharon Stephens; eleven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Steven McNeley.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

I will always remember all the times going over to grandmas (your moms) to mow the lawn and the things you taught me about mowers and mowing...
P.S. I'm still mowing just my own but think about the things you showed and taught me about mowing .

Thanks for the example you set; that love has no boundaries. I needed a Dad, and you didn't hesitate to fill that roll. I might add--you were the best Grandpa ever to my kids! Can't wait to see you again in Glory.
