Sherrie Branchcomb

Sherrie Rae Branchcomb, 45, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 15, 2014.

Sherrie was born August 30, 1968 to Sam and Sandy Branchcomb. Sherrie leaves behind a legacy of love. A day never passed that she did not have a smile on her face. She enjoyed music and listening to the radio and often carried around country music magazine. The Oakridge Boys were one of her favorites and she attended every concert. Sherrie loved spending time with her friends at Link Associates. She had a huge heart and loved giving hugs to people. She was drawn to babies when ever she saw them and liked caring for her baby dolls. It was such a joy to open presents with her on Christmas. She liked wearing her footie pajamas and red house robe and chewing bubble gum. She was very expressive, spoke with great hand gestures, and always hated the bad guys on TV. Her love was contagious and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Sherrie is survived by her parents, Sam and Sandy; siblings, Shane (Faye) Branchcomb, Shawn (Kyla) Branchcomb, Sandy (Nicholas) Thompson, Suellen Branchcomb, Paige Branchcomb, and Alexis Branchcomb; brother-in-law, Victor Ruacho; and aunt, Betty Alonso.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Shellie Ruacho; grandparents, Marion and Ruby Goforth and Edgar and Jenny Branchcomb; and great-grandmother, Fern Pilkington.

Services will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Avon Cemetery.
