Martin Henry Nee III, 57, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014. He was born May 26, 1956 to Martin Henry Nee, Jr. and Hildegarde Nee in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Martin served in the United States Air Force. He was an Eagle Scout who loved the outdoors. Martin enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. All who know him would say he loved deeply and much.
He is survived by his mother, Hildegarde; brothers, Marc (Carla Ricci) Nee; Rob (Heather) Nee. Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Dottie Nee; and father, Martin Henry Nee, Jr.

Written Tuesday, April 1st, 2014 (Wouldnt you know it would be April Fools Day. Go figure.)
Bear,
I awoke in the middle of the night, and my thoughts ran to you. I had tried to email you over the last few weeks, and called you, but got no response. I wondered. I got the idea to check the obituaries, and there you were. Now I knew.
Youve crossed over. Youve joined Dot. My dear ole friend, its three in the morning. Im here at the computer, my animals curled up at my feet, with a flood of memories flowing over me.
You, my friend, were one of a kind. Heaven knows, you made me want to pull my hair out at times. Remember my ole converted chicken coop rear-residence I lived in when you met me? Wed met at a bar on Colfax Avenue in Denver. You were the only man that was a gentleman, and you asked me out. We made plans, but you didnt show, and called with an excuse I had a hard time believing but it turned out to be true. Your car had been totaled just sitting in front of a house where you were visiting. Some guy had come around the corner, drunk as a skunk, and smashed it to smithereens. Funny, some years later, I actually rented that house for a spell.
Remember Rambo Tactics? Yes, you do! Well leave that one between you and me. Remember when I was finally ready to get a puppy, to have a dog once again? You went with me to the Dumb Friends Animals League in Denver, and I found Jason? We took him up into the mountains to play in his first snow.
Oh, my dear, sweet friend. Tears run down my face when I think of the shock you had a couple of years ago when Dot, your wife passed so suddenly, and so tragically. Then you started having your health problems after. Though I will miss you so very much, I know your body had just given out. One day, my time will come too. Be there for me?
Heres a big ole Bear Hug for you!!! I will see you again, in time. You and I had a very special friendship here on this earth, which stood the test of time, while so few do. You are in my heart, always.

P.S. If I am reaching Bears mother, brother, son, daughter-in-law, Dots children, Gin, Gins sister any of you, know that I would welcome contact from you. Bear was a significant man and friend in my life. I will remember him every day. As a side note, I hope that Bear & Dots cat found a good home. There were times he said that animal kept him connected.

I wrote last night, actually early this morning, having found that Bear had passed on through an obituary search. His actual name was Martin Henry Nee III. The one thing I didn't do was leave my phone number. I had just left my email address. My phone number is 785-271-8774 here in Topeka, KS. I would really love to get a call from any family or other friends. I am concerned that I was yet able to leave a message on his cell phone just a few days ago, and his regular phone was busy all the time. Please call me. I would welcome it.

I always enjoyed my conversations with Martin. He was a great guy with a good heart.
