Marjorie Gookin passed away peacefully Thursday, February 27, 2014 surrounded by her family at the age of 91. Marge is preceded in death by her husband, Fritz; parents, Belle and Delbert Hoskins; brothers, George and Howard; and son, Keith. She is survived by her brother, Paul (Mary) Hoskins; sister, Louise Reed; her devoted daughter-in-law, Sandy Gookin; grandchildren, Fritz (Beth) Gookin, Marty (Diana) Gookin, and Mandi (Chuck) Leaf; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Marge was born and raised in Earlham, Iowa. She had a fun and lively spirit, always looking for mischief and adventure. She was active at the Park Fair Senior Center. Marge and Fritz were involved in round dancing. She always had jokes, chocolate, and her beautiful laugh ready to share with everyone she encountered.
Marge is donating her body to Des Moines University. She requested no funeral and a small family remembrance will be planned for a future date.

Marjorie will be missed. She always brightened up our office when she came for a visit. we will miss seeing our pink ladies every month

I knew Margie from the North Side Senior Center. She was always cordial and friendly and a real nice person to sit with and a lot of fun. She will be greatly missed coming to the center.
