Aleine Harris

Aleine Harris, 87, died Friday, 2/21/2014, at Trinity Center at Luther Park. She was born November 26, 1926, to Andrew and Lela Simmerman in White Oak Township, Warren County Iowa. She was a graduate of Indianola High School and was joined in marriage to Cecil Ray Harris Sr on August 10, 1946.

Aleine worked at Bankers Life/Principal for many years. She enjoyed reading and working on word search puzzles to keep her mind active. She loved spending time with her family, and was the kind of woman that found satisfaction in taking care of others, always wanting the people around her to feel happy, comfortable and well fed. She loved cooking for others, and was well known for her cakes and delicious sugar cookies.

She is survived by her two sons Andrew (Teresa) Harris, Cecil Ray Harris Jr, and her grandson Steven Harris.

Aleine Harris was preceded in death by her Husband Cecil Ray Harris Sr, two sisters Maurine Barnett & Elaine Bumgarner, as well as her parents.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, 2/26/2014 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, with burial to follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Indianola, Iowa. Friends may visit with family prior to the service on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens.

Memorial Contributions may be directed toward the family in loving memory of Aleine. Her family would like to thank all the staff at the Trinity Center for their compassionate and dedicated care given to Aleine these past few years.
