Francis Bayliff

Francis “Frank” Eugene Bayliff of Mitchellville, Iowa passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014 at the age of 66.

Services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, Altoona. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. with burial at Mitchellville Cemetery.

Frank was born in Sydney, Nebraska on November 17, 1947. Residences also included Fairmont, Minnesota and Ankeny, Iowa. He served in the US Navy until his honorable discharge. Significant employment included Grimes Asphalt and Walmart of Altoona.

Frank is survived by his mother, Jeanne Ginger of Ankeny, IA; two sons, Dwayne Frosch “Frank Bayliff” and Derrick Bayliff; six grandchildren: Makenzie Parker, Desirae Bayliff, Andrew Bayliff, Cody S. Spurgeon, Shykel Bayliff, and Donoven Bayliff; great-grandchildren, Cadence Spurgeon and Cody C. Spurgeon; six siblings: Walt Bayliff, Judy Schmidt, Chris Vanderpool, Annette Gust, Bridget Smith, and Dan Ginger; 20 nieces and nephews; and 21 great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Bayliff; step-father, Dwayne Ginger; and nephew, Dana Roskam.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the funeral home to assist with burial expenses.
