Service Details

Surrounded by family and friends, in the presence of God, Denny Wells, 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2014.

Denny was born February 1, 1946, to Rose and William Wells.

After graduating from East High School, Denny enlisted in the Air Force. Following his military service, he spent his entire working career self-employed. Denny had many hobbies and a passion for the music of Elvis Presley, venturing to the casinos, wagering on his favorite horse, and playing cards and dominoes with his family and friends. He also enjoyed a relaxing afternoon fishing, watching sprint car racing, Raider’s football and most of all, sitting in his favorite chair cheering on the Oakland A’s baseball team.

Denny was united in marriage to Karen Hill in 1968. Together they shared 30 loving years until her passing in 1998. From this union they were blessed with four wonderful children. Denny was again blessed with love in his marriage to Jackie Hernandez in beautiful Lake Tahoe, California, on May 23, 1999.

Denny will be greatly missed by his family who love him: his wife, Jackie; his mother, Rose; and his most precious blessings, children, Stephen (Polly) Wells of Tracy, CA; Chris (Tracie) Wells of Manteca, CA; Denny Wells Jr. of Des Moines, IA; Dawn (Luis) Brandi of Chico, CA; Lisa (Dave) Olson of Des Moines, IA; and H.
