E. Pauline Frye, Coffman, Schomburg, born on September 26, 1919 at her families home in Mahaska County, Iowa to Arthur and Edith Frye; passed on Monday, February 10, 2014. She graduated from East Des Moines High School in 1937. Pauline married Clyde Coffman in 1939 and to this union was born their only child; Elaine Coffman, Haskell, Stearns. Pauline was a member of East Gate Order of the Eastern Star for many years and held several different Star Points. She was baptized and a member of Wesley Methodist Church until she moved to Indianola, Iowa to marry Lester H. Schomburg. Pauline worked at various companies including, Rollins Hosiery Mill, Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, on an Army Post in Aberdeen, Maryland, Grace Ranson’s Tea Room, Allen Dykstra, Swift and Austin, National Handcraft, and Employers Mutual Insurance Company from which she retired in 1979. Pauline moved to The Village at Legacy Pointe in Waukee, Iowa in 2009. She was admired and loved by everyone there.

Pauline is survived by her daughter, Elaine (Jim) Stearns; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; her only sibling, William A. Frye of Dayton, Ohio; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 13 at 11 a.m. at The Village at Legacy Pointe, 1650 SE Holiday Crest Circle in Waukee. Burial will be at Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines.
