David A. Miller

David A. Miller, 76, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Unity Point Health Des Moines Methodist.

David was born October 30, 1937 in Ellston, Iowa to Osmond and Erma Miller. He retired from Dixon Wholesale Meat where he had worked as a meat cutter for many years. David enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and traveling.

David is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marlene; daughters, Donna Smith and Dianna (Ed Corey) Miller; grandson, Tyler Smith; siblings, Deloris Nelson, Dorinne De Groote and Dudley (Elaine) Miller; and a host of extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marvin; sisters, Delma Woolery and Doris Brafford; and his infant son, David Jr.

The family will greet friends Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with the funeral service at 12 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Burial will take place at Avon Cemetery.
