Robert Marion Trullinger

Robert Marion Trullinger, 86, passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center.

Robert was born January 18, 1928 to Carl Marion and Anna Mae (Donaldson) Trullinger in Shenandoah, Iowa. He met the love of his life, Joy Anderson while in band at East High School. Robert graduated from East High in 1945 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. at the age of 17. He proudly served in WWII and the Korean War. Robert accepted Christ while stationed in China and was baptized in 1948 at Galilee Baptist Church in Des Moines. On December 13, 1948, he and Joy were married at Galilee Baptist Church. Robert retired as the plant superintendent of Waldinger Corporation after 37 years of service.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Joy; children, Sheryl Wendt, Gary (Becky) Trullinger and Larry (Kandie) Trullinger; grandchildren, Jody, Chad, Christopher, Bradley, Abby, Matthew, Benjamin, Brittni, Crissy, Carl and Tyler; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Donald Trullinger, Maxine Rice, Vesta Trullinger and Ardith Law.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Galilee Baptist Church, 2208 Des Moines Street. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Galilee Baptist Church or World Vision International in loving memory of Robert.
