Jon Thomas LaRue, 59, passed away Monday, February 3, 2014, with his family by his side.
Jon was born June 22, 1954, to Frankie and Phyllis LaRue. He loved spending time with his family and his grandsons, making up stories to entertain them. He retired from VA Central Iowa Healthcare System as a member of the groundskeeping staff. He served his country in the US Marines and enjoyed camping.
He is survived by his wife, Becky; daughter, Courtney Maxwell and husband, Steve; grandsons, Korbyn and Jace; and brothers, Jim and Jerry.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Joellen Hall; mother- and father-in-law, Betty and Darwin Mongar; and brothers-in-law, Steve and Donnie Mongar.
According to Jon’s wishes, there are no services planned at this time.

My heart is breaking for you guys and your family. I have some very fond memories of Jon. I never will forget his nickname for me and I'm sure you guys won't either. :) I can still hear him laughing about it. The stories he told will live on through you guys. Love always
