Agnes Barnes

Agnes Barnes, 78, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014, at her home in Des Moines.

Agnes was born July 21, 1935, in Des Moines, to George and Minnie Bell Moyer. She appreciated the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and camping. Agnes liked doing crossword puzzles, reading, and arts and crafts. She was a larger than life character, living life to its fullest, and she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Agnes is survived by her children: Peggy (Dennis) Lockridge, Judy (Jerry) Allen, Bill (Joanne) Barnes, Adel Sams, Melody (Mark) Jones, and Doug (Tammy) Barnes; grandchildren: Christopher Lockridge, Billy Groves, Angela (Mike) Smith, Russell Barlow, Georgia Garcia, Michelle Gonzales, Joanne (Shawn) Farlow, Brian (Sandy) Heim, Jesse (Amy) Jones, Casey Jones, Tim (Sara) Heim, and Steven Heim; and great-grandchildren: Sara Duarte, Antonio Gonzales, Francisco Bautista, Leila Heim, Connor Heim, Colby Heim, and Damon Jones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dan Allen Barnes, and daughter, Sara Barnes.

Services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., with funeral service at 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, February 8, 2014.
