Battista Lamberti

Battista “Bus” Lamberti, 98, was born in Enterprise, Iowa on May 21, 1915, to Dominic and Ida (Cervetti) Lamberti. He passed away February 2, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Bus was a resident of Madrid until 1940 and then moved to Des Moines, where he was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. He retired in 1994 from WHO Radio as a Transmitter Engineer.

Bus was a HAM Operator – WØWSJ. He enjoyed electronics, tinkering, and riding his bike.

Bus is survived by his children, Chris Lamberti of Des Moines, Tom Lamberti of Des Moines; Mary (Gary) DouBrava of Urbandale, and Judy (Joe) Pirillo of Altoona; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; as well as his sister, Ada Evangelista. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2014 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Lifeline, the Animal Rescue League, or All Saints Catholic Church in loving memory of Bus.
