Albert (Tim) Smith

Albert Smith was born March 27, 1948 to Albert and Mae Smith in Des Moines, Iowa. Albert passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 of a heart attack at his home.

A celebration of life will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial of cremated remains will occur at Laurel Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Albert graduated from North High School. He went on to work numerous jobs. He retired from Wolfe Machinery after many years. Albert loved the Hawkeyes and Cyclones. One of his greatest joys was owning a hobby stockcar and watching his nephew race it.

Albert is survived by his mother, Mae Smith; brother, Gary Smith (Sue); sister, Cheryl Smith (Jerry See); sister, Connie Berry (Ray); many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; cherished friend, Marva Beghtel and her son, Aaron; and too many treasured friends to mention.
