Richard McClain

Richard (Dick) McClain, 67, of Altoona, IA. Went to be with the Lord on August 9, 2007, at Iowa Hospice Taylor House, Des Moines, IA. Richard was born June 29, 1940 in Des Moines, Iowa to David and Louise McClain.
He was a retired sheet metal worker and was presently employed by N.P.I Security. He was an avid race fan and loved playing and being with grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Beth McClain of Altoona, Iowa; his sons; William McClain (Dawn), James McClain (Kathy), Matthew Van Alstine (Michelle), and Andrew Van Alstine (Katie); his daughters, Dawn Henry (Jason) and Mamie Dennis (Brent); and 20 grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister and grandson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Taylor House Hospice, 3401 E. Douglas.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, August 13, 2007 at Evangel Chapel, 4019 E. 42nd Street, Des Moines. Burial will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Sunday, at the church.
