Tamera Lynn (Potter) Bonczynski, 34, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 25, 2014.

Tammy was born February 19, 1979 in Des Moines, Iowa to Jeffrey and Darcy Potter. She had a huge heart and was always there for anyone who needed her. She loved her family, friends, and all animals.

Tammy appreciated being outdoors. She liked hiking in the woods and parks, spending time in nature. She enjoyed camping, boating, and walking the creek at Thomas Mitchell Park. Tammy was an excellent swimmer and competed with the Northwest Swim Team in the summers. She was also fond of dancing and took lessons from Carla Van Cleve’s Dance Studio. Tammy liked watching hockey and was a Des Moines Buccaneers fan.

Tammy took child development classes at Central Campus and loved working with children. At one time, she was the head cashier at Ace Hardware in Beaverdale and it was evident that she enjoyed her job.

Tammy had a love for frogs. She had kissed a lot of toads before finally finding her prince in Jeff. Tammy and Jeff had a fairy tale wedding with a Renaissance theme.

Tammy is survived by her parents, Jeffrey and Darcy; brother, John William Potter (Jesselyn Alder); husband, Jeff Bonczynski; nana, Jeanne McAdam-Hoffman; grandma and papa, Barbara and Raymond Potter; aunts and uncle: Charis Potter, Scott and Nancy McAdam, Elizabeth McAdam-Hawley, and Stephanie McAdam; cousins: Tiffany McAdam-Hostetter (Tim), Taryn McAdam, Scotty McAdam, Jr. (Mizuki), and Drew McAdam (Kayla Russell); and second cousins: Kayleah, Parker, and Nina.

She was preceded in death by her cousin, Jeremy Harden; grandpa, Ray McAdam, Jr.; great-grandparents: Hazel and Bill Anderson and Ruth and Harry Heisey; and uncle, Robb “Rollie” McAdam.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m.
